It feels like the mobile gaming community has been anticipating the imminent release of Rainbow Six Mobile for years because the development cycle has indeed been extensive. After a prolonged soft-launch period that saw players in select regions like Canada and Mexico gaining early access, Ubisoft has finally made the official announcement. Rainbow Six Mobile will launch globally on Monday, 23 February 2026.
The announcement was made alongside a significant presentation at the Six Invitational 2026 in Paris, where Ubisoft outlined the future of the entire franchise. While console players are looking forward to Year 11 content, the headline for handheld gamers is that the tactical 5v5 shooter is finally ready for a worldwide audience.
Operation Sand Wraith and New Content
Ubisoft is not merely opening the servers; they are launching the game with a substantial update titled Operation Sand Wraith. This debut season introduces a desert-themed atmosphere and brings a formidable new character to the Operator roster named Deimos. Players familiar with the franchise lore will recognize Deimos as a relentless antagonist, and in the mobile version, he arrives as an Attacker designed to hunt down roaming defenders. His unique gadget, the DeathMARK Tracker, is a flying probe that locks onto a specific enemy and reveals their live position to Deimos, forcing a high-stakes duel where only the superior marksman survives.
What Players Can Expect on Day One
The launch build is robust and features a wide array of content for new and returning players. The game will include a roster of over twenty fan-favorite Operators, including Ash, Sledge, Hibana, Caveira, Smoke, and Valkyrie. These characters will battle it out on iconic destructible maps such as Bank, Border, Clubhouse, Oregon, and Villa. Beyond the classic Bomb mode, players can also jump into Bomb Rush, which is a faster variant designed for mobile play sessions, or Team Deathmatch to practice their aiming skills. Furthermore, the competitive Ranked ladder will be live immediately for those looking to grind their way to the Champion rank.
Cross-Connectivity with the Siege Universe
Ubisoft is heavily emphasizing the connected nature of the Rainbow Six universe. Gamers who play both Rainbow Six Siege on PC or console and Rainbow Six Mobile will receive exclusive rewards by logging into both titles with the same Ubisoft Connect account. This connectivity unlocks an exclusive weapon skin and universal background in Siege, while mobile players will receive a bundle that includes weapon charms and special packs to help expand their arsenal more quickly.
Launch Details
The tactical shooter market on mobile is crowded, but Rainbow Six Mobile aims to stand out by offering true tactical destruction that allows players to breach walls and reinforce rooms. You can pre-register right now on the App Store and Google Play Store to get notified the second the install button goes live.
For everyone outside the previous soft-launch territories, the servers will officially open on 23 February 2026.
