Bricks Braker RPG
If you’ve been looking for a way to scratch that itch for both mindless arcade breaking and crunchy RPG stat-maxing, a new contender has entered the App Store. Developed by Whimbear Studios, Bricks Breaker RPG is exactly what it says on the tin: a fusion of the timeless “Breakout” style gameplay with a fully-fledged role-playing progression system.
While the core loop involves smashing bricks and strategizing shots to maximize damage, the game differentiates itself by layering deep RPG mechanics on top. You aren’t just clearing stages; you are leveling up a hero, unlocking abilities, and hunting for loot.
The game features a loot system that ranges from Standard to Ancient rarities, allowing players to equip “Orbs” that boost stats and unlock game-changing effects. Beyond the combat, the developer has included some surprising downtime activities. Players can explore mining areas to collect ores for crafting, or even take a break to go fishing for rare loot and new species.
The game also features an Endless Mode with roguelite elements for those chasing leaderboard glory, as well as daily quests and boss fights that require more strategy than your average brick breaker.
Bricks Breaker RPG is a free-to-play title, which naturally brings us to the economy. The game includes several In-App Purchases (IAPs) primarily focused on premium currency (Gems) and quality-of-life improvements.
For those who want a premium experience without interruptions, there is an “AD Removal” purchase available for roughly USD 7-8.
Other notable IAPs include:
• Gem Packs: Ranging from small heaps (250 Gems for ~USD 2) to large stashes (5000 Gems for ~USD 18).
• Lifetime Support Pack: Listed at various price points (likely depending on regional sales or tiers), appearing around the USD 10 – USD15 mark.
• Sales: There appear to be rotating sales, such as discounted Gem packs.
The game is available now on the iOS App Store.
